If you focus on the company, you must know TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons, which is designed to create optimal distance gapping (12 yards) between clubs. Cheap golf club sets weighting is higher in short irons for more workability and gets progressively lower and more rearward in long irons for forgiveness. The sole design (raised in center, recessed in heel and toe) reduces drag and should increase playability. Recessed areas along the heel and toe are intended to reduce turf drag for crisper contact. Look for Burner 2.0 to gain its own loyal following based on overall distance output, reliable directional control and improved feel.

The TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons Left Hand as the same as the right hand golf. Just like the face is thinner. The toplines are progressive. The shafts are specifically designed for each head. Every iron has been reinvented. A multi-functional sole lowers the center of gravity and reduces turf-drag to make it easy to launch shots high and long, while the inverted cone in each clubface is strategically sized and shaped center of gravity location in each head is precision-placed to optimize long-, middle- and short-iron flight; high-coefficient of restitution faces promote fast ball speed for long distance in the long-irons. Medium sized thickness sole, and together with a thinnish top line favored by countless. A significantly thinner top line together with an enhanced sole thickness as well as shorter from heel to toe delivers self-belief seldom observed in a superior G I iron such as these. Golf Win to Join the Olympic Family in 2016

Remember the year of 2008, the 29th Olympic Game hosted in Beijing, for the Sports fan, the game is a big celebration with their sport stars. And now, the 30th Olympic will celebrate in London in 2012. There is also having well news for golfer. We know after an absence of more than a century, golf will return as an Olympic sport in 2016 and 2020 along with rugby sevens following their approval by the International Olympic Committee membership during the IOC's 121st Session.

In 2008, Callaway golf clubs as the leading golf equipment manufacture supported the efforts of the International Golf Federation (IGF) and other lead organizations in urging the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to restore golf as an Olympic sport. Callaway Golf European Marketing Director, Jeff Dodds said "Golf is played around the world, under the same set of rules, by players of all ages, both genders and diverse backgrounds. Golf's longstanding traditions of honesty, fair play, and sportsmanship are in complete alignment with the core values of Olympic competition - and that's why we at Callaway Golf believe it should be an Olympic Sport."

Golf got 63 votes for and 27 votes against; seven-person rugby got 81 votes for. Tiger Woods has said "Golf, I think, is a wonderful sport to have in the Olympics just because of the history and tradition of sportsmanship, how we play the game, the etiquette," Woods has indicated he would play in the Olympics if golf were accepted for 2016. They will be part of the Olympic Programmed in Rio de Janeiro, which was selected as the host city for 2016 Games by the IOC. Golf was last an Olympic sport at the 1904 Games in St. Louis, Mo., when the United States and Canada were the only two competing countries.

After the IOC decided golf will enter in the Olympic Games, things have changed completely. With the International Golf Federation still working on the qualification premise it presented to the Olympic family when it successfully made its bid for inclusion in 2009: the top 15 men and women in the world rankings (with a limit of four per country) will be there, with the rest made up by working down the rankings with a maximum of two players per country until the sixty-player field is filled.

We just wait for 5 years to see the golf game will play in the 31st Olympic Game and the top golf star also gather in Rio de Janeiro to complete with each other. Callaway Golf Clubs will still support the game and golfer. Let's look forward an exciting golf game in 2016.

The Grain Flow Forged Mizuno MP 53 Irons

"Our design ethos is about packing as much forgiveness as we can into smaller, more versatile packages. The MP-53 is an incredible iron - it's smaller than our previous game improvement iron the MX-300, yet still more forgiving." Said by Chris Voshall, the engineer of Mizuno shows us the new member in MP Lines.

When I saw the Mizuno MP 53 Irons at the first time, the smaller head shape, clean cavity, flowing lines and high polished finish will instantly make them a classic. The 360° grind on the top line and sole are obviously there for performance reason, but damn does it look good. Everything just flows with these irons and believe it or not, the grind actually makes the sole look thinner than what it truly is. The MP-53's forgiveness is in the right places – the mid and long and irons. With the shorter irons, loft takes over the role of forgiveness and we put an emphasis back onto feel and versatility.

Ticking all the boxes required to be an MP model, the Grain Flow Forged MP-53 has the head size, playing profile, and top line to please the most demanding shot-makers. Cheap golf club sets the unique thing about the MP-53's is the Diamond Muscle which gives the irons an incredibly solid feel...surprisingly even on shots that weren't hit flush every single time. A new diamond muscle designed and a milled pocket cavity have allowed Mizuno to add more forgiveness to a compact head. Mizuno have worked hard at the sound of the face at impact as this is directly related to feel. The pocket cavity removes 14 grams of weight and allows it to be redistributed around the cavity. The shorter irons progress into a muscle-back design for added control.

Mizuno MP 53 Irons Main Features:

>Diamond Muscle Design: Created using Harmonic Impact Technology for enhanced feel and ball control.

>Grain Flow Forged: Heads forged from a single 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel billet for pure feel.

>V shaped CNC Milled Pocket Cavity :( 3-7 irons) redistributes weight to deliver the largest MOI ever in an MP iron.

>360° Grind: Thinner effective top line and clean turf interaction 360° grind for thinner top line and ideal turf interaction and shot making versatility.

>Modified U-grooves: Ideal spin rates within 2010 Condition of Competition rule.

>White Satin or Mirror Chrome: High polish mirror chrome or limited edition, low glare White Satin.
>Conforms to the 2010 USGA/R&A Condition of Competition.

How To Hit A Lob Wedge

Quite simply, the "Lob Wedge" is the most lofted club you would have in your Golf Bag. It is particularly useful for hitting high shots over hazards such as bunkers (especially around the green) and of course the dreaded water hazards. As time has moved on and pin placement has become tighter on a lot of courses, the Lob Wedge has become an essential tool for most golfers including beginners. The loft on a Lob Wedge can range from 58 to 64 degrees although lofts above 61 degrees are seldom used by Amateurs as the higher the loft, the more difficult it is to hit the ball correctly.

Typically the average golfer would have a loft of around 58/60 degrees on a Lob Wedge.

Ads by Google

The "Bounce Angle" on a Lob Wedge is very important as the higher this number, the less the likelihood that the club will "dig" into the ground, choose one that is relevant to your shot capabilities. A Lob Wedge with a bounce angle of around 10 degrees will give you a good base to start from. It also sits below the bounce angle you get from a Sand Wedge thus giving you more flexibility in tight lies. The smaller the bounce angle, the bigger the divot you take.

Confidence and practice are the keys to hitting a Lob Wedge correctly. You have to commit to the shot and ensure that you accelerate through the ball. Some other tips on this are as follows:

Play the ball from the middle of your stance ensuring you have a good well balanced base enabling even weight distribution.
Use a three quarter back swing and don't forget to accelerate through the ball when playing this shot ensuring your wrists "don't break" and your hands will lead the Club head through the ball.
Practice makes perfect with this shot and there is no greater feeling when you have the confidence to hit what is a tricky shot around the green with great results. With practice the Lob Wedge will help you lower your handicap and can give you more options for shots around the green including the challenging Wet Bunker Shot

Super Sweet Golf Swing Tips That Work

When you’re playing golf badly it really isn’t a lot of fun. It takes a great deal of skill, mental fortitude and perseverance to excel at golf. You may receive all the best golf tips in the world, take countless lessons, get superior instruction and still may not be able to gain consistency.
If you’ve hit with your golf driver perfectly once, you can do it every time; the subconscious mind knows the correct number and sequence of muscle contractions and nerve impulses needed, called muscle memory. Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing. It’s been proven that thinking positively about bettering your golf game will benefit you more than playing to compete with your partners and trying to win for winnings sake.
Before you swing, make sure you’re relaxed; contract all your muscles tightly for a moment and then relax them. It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility. As the body matures, the ability to rotate the upper torso is affected by age, and the hand action can also slow down requiring a slightly stronger grip.
One of the problems that most inexperienced golfers share is they think too much about their swing. Pick out a spot on the course, preferably the green of the fairway, and concentrate on hitting the ball to that spot. Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing.
Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. When you swing if you have problems with your left knee buckling, imagine you’re holding a soccer ball between your knees. Try not to grip the club too tightly.
Accomplished golfers purposely use sidespin to steer their ball around obstacles or towards the safe side of fairways and greens. Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing.
Turn to golf exercise and techniques if you want strength and power. To prevent injury and improve swing speed and distance requires your body to be both strong and flexible. The golf swing is mostly rotational so it makes sense to concentrate on your turning ability as it relates to range of motion and speed.
If you’re a golfing novice just starting out, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. Golf swing aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one swing aid and go to work on it.
Before buying any golf swing aid, check with an expert to get an idea of what problem you need to work on first; backlift of golf swing, momentum of downward thrust or stance for example. In any case, stick to just one aid at a time; don’t load up on them. You can find aids that will help you with your wrist and arm position.
Be careful about the claims on TV commercials and magazine ads; seek expert advice before you buy because they may not live up to their claims. There are a wide range of golf swing aids on the market today to help the beginning and advanced golfer.
There are aids that act as driving range simulators. If you’re looking for an aid to improve your stance they’re not hard to find.
Try to concentrate on one golf swing weakness at time. Having a plan and working on specific aspects of the swing or game should be your goal. When you play a round of golf, concentrate on improving your golf swing, putting or something specific that day; have a plan in mind.

3 Simple Golf Practice Steps To An Effective Golf Game

Without constant practice, you cannot expect your golf game to get better over time. Even with the help of lessons, instructional videos and other aids that you purchase, you cannot get better without consistent and efficient practice. You need to practice consistently because with every practice session, your body goes through a series of exercises that help develop muscle memory. Also, you need to practice efficiently because it is important that you learn to pace your energy through the different kinds of exercises.
Although this advice sounds simple enough, many tend to overlook it. It’s tempting to go straight and tee-off as soon as you get to the golf course. Many golfers, even the pros are guilty of that too. This is simply because there are many golfers out there think that their score will improve as long as they spend enough time practicing at the practice range or even worst, on the course.
This could not be further from the truth. In order to play a better game of golf, it is vital that you hold regular and disciplined practice sessions, the way that you would treat your golf game.
Instead of thinking how boring practice sessions can get, do remember that it is with constant practice that you are able to develop better playing habits when you next play a round of golf. Also, it would help you to think of practice sessions as a fun part of learning and not look at is as a heavy burden or a chore .If you think practice sessions are fun, you would naturally play better and have more enjoyment in the game.
You practice sessions are generally divided into three parts. They are the:
- warming up stage
- fresh stage
- fatigued stage
In each of these stages, you will be doing different sets of activities, and when they are carried out in the right stages, they will effectively get you the results that you want and this can be seen when you are out playing golf with your friends.
The Warming Up Stage
Many people have the misconception that golf is an easy game that doesn’t require any physical activities, as it only involves walking and swinging. Again, this is wrong. Even when you are swinging your golf clubs, you use your muscle groups to move and work in ways that you normally don’t in your everyday routine.
This means that when you play golf you can expect to have your arms, torso, and lower back muscles to work hard. This shows that it is very important for you to first go through some stretching activities for warming up. You should start from the top of your head and work down towards your feet.
Remember that what you want is to get your muscles to move in full range and to achieve flexibility. Should you be unfamiliar with stretching activities, do consult your trainer or instructor at your club for some advice.
The Fresh Stage
Right after warming up, you could start practicing exercises that help build on a certain golfing skill which you would like to master. On the other hand you could work on parts of your game that you think needs the most work. These could include driving, chipping or putting.
The aim is of course to work on your techniques and skills while you’re still fresh and flexible from a good stretching exercise during the warming up stage as your body will be able to respond in a more positive manner to whatever exercise that you are practicing.
Some people have the wrong idea about practice sessions. They think that golf practice means spending time on a golfing range. Why would you want to work on your driving, unless that is the area that you would most want to improve? If you think your putting needs serious practice, then by all means, work on your putting as soon as you’ve warmed up. (By the way, it has been noted that almost 60% of a golfer’s strokes take place on the golf green. However, this is not considered by many golfers, which result in poor ineffective golfing habits).
The Fatigued Stage
Once you get a bit tired or breathless from all the earlier exercises, you can move on to other parts of your game that needs minor practice. As your body is already familiar with this facet of the game, you only need to reinforce and maintain this technique.
Should you require any correction to your technique, your already stressed body will not be too pressured in trying to master a particularly difficult skill. As stated in the example above, only after you have done enough practice on your putting should you move on to the driving range reinforce and maintain your drives.
Last but not least, take note of these suggestions and observations when you are practicing next.
In order to get continuous and consistent improvement, do remember that a good practice to play ratio is about 2:1. This means that you have to spend twice as much time at practice as to the amount of time spent playing.
On the other hand, remember to get sufficient rest in between your exercises and also in between the various stages. Even though it is considered as a work out, you should not exert yourself to the point of panting and gasping. That would not bring any good but will bring even more harm to you.
Your golf game should improve as your practice sessions get more disciplined and more organised. Remember to be consistent and to note the results of all your exercises so that you can improve your golf game one stroke at a time.

Finding The Best Golf Swing Tips That Fit Your Needs

No matter what area of your game needs improving, whether it’s balance and alignment or power and speed, there’s a solution waiting for you. The biggest concerns of golfers today are inconsistency first of all, followed by slicing and distance. You need great hand-eye coordination, balance, athletic ability and creativity to play golf.
Concentrate totally on your game and you’ll get the best score. Overall, you generally want to play golf with confidence. Always be aware the mental aspect of the game contributes one way or another to the difficulty of the golf swing.
Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing. Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.
Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. Pick out a spot on the course, preferably the green of the fairway, and concentrate on hitting the ball to that spot. Accomplished golfers purposely use sidespin to steer their ball around obstacles or towards the safe side of fairways and greens.
Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you’re going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball. One of the problems that most inexperienced golfers share is they think too much about their swing. After the ball is hit, the follow-through stage consists of a continued rotation to the left.
Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing. Try not to grip the club too tightly.
Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. The state of the physical condition is very often overlooked as a possible cause of golf swing problems. Once you understand that you can change your swing by using a simple technique, you’ll never underestimate golf fitness again.
Overall, investing in golf swing aids will greatly improve your golf swing and your golf game. Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course. If you’re looking for an aid to improve your stance they’re not hard to find.
Make sure to look for reviews and ratings online for any golf swing aid you’re considering. Aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. Keep in mind that with some aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert.
Golf magazines often review the newest golf swing aids and are reviewed by golfers, making it easy to choose the right one for you. In any case, stick to just one aid at a time; don’t load up on them. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one aid, then go to work on your swing.
Before buying any golf swing aid, check with an expert to get an idea of what problem you need to work on first; backlift of golf swing, momentum of downward thrust or stance for example. If you’re a golfing novice just starting out, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.
When you play a round of golf, concentrate on improving your golf swing, putting or something specific that day; have a plan in mind. There are hundreds of useful golf tips to seek out in golf magazines, consumer magazines, sports magazines, in books, ebooks, DVDs, online and offline. Practice, practice, practice!

Master Golf Right Away – Quick Tips for Improving Your Golf Swing

mproving your golf swing would really be a very good attempt to play golf perfectly. The intention would itself keep you motivated and you can become a master in golf by simply abiding to the tips that are furnished below. Once you start following them, you would see the difference for yourself. Other than this, you need not worry about any other factor for improving your golf swing.

Positioning yourself is the most tricky part in golf and you should be certainly be able to do this as a measure to improving your golf swing. All that you have to do is to imagine a line between the flag you are targeting and the ball. You should now position yourself parallel to this imaginary line. This is the basics of golf and would greatly help in improving the golf swing.
Holding the golf club correctly is essential. Improving the golf swing would become very simple and easy if one of these three different methods is followed. The Vardon or Overlapping Grip, Interlocking Grip and the Baseball Grip are the three most commonly used methods.
Baseball grip method best suits young children and elders who have small hands. The next method for improving your golf swing is Vardon or Overlapping method in which the smallest finger in the right hand is kept between the index and middle finger in the left hand. In the next method, which is called as the Interlocking method in golf, the index finger of the left hand and the little finger on the right hand are locked together producing a grip.

The next technique which helps in improving the golf swing is the grip of the left hand. The club should be held in the left hand with the shaft lying across the top of the fingers. The thumb can as well be placed straight across the top of the fingers in order to have a natural grip. One more point which should be noted is that the thumb of the right hand should be pointing to the right shoulder.
Maintaining a decent distance between the two legs is the next important step used for improving your golf swing. This distance between the legs should be equal to the length of the shoulder. Essential parts of the body like the shoulder, knee, hip and the foot should all be parallel. It is also essential in golf that the upper portion of the body should lean slightly. But the knees can be relaxed.
Conscientiously focus on proper body positioning when practicing your swing. Keep your shoulders and upper body together while the only your hand is turned as your body is rotating through the swing. Do this and improvement will surely come.

The most essential point to be remembered in golf for improving your golf swing is that your shoulder and body’s upper part should never move. Movement in these areas would reduce the body’s balance and result in a bad shot. The uniqueness of golf is that just the arm has to be rotated and the rest of the body has just to rotate like a swing in the direction the arm moves. If keen attention is paid to these factors, no one can stop you from improving your golf swing.

Golf – Novelty Accessories Available To Golfers

Golf is a sport in which the players can almost constantly find something new to spend their money on. The clubs alone can cost insane amounts in order to get the nicest graphite ones. If you are going to spend all of your money on the nicest graphite clubs that you can find, you may miss on some really interesting and eccentric accessories.
There is always something new and clever that a golfer can buy, and you will sometimes see people driving their golf carts around loaded with tons of novelty golf accessories. If you want to get involved in this wild and crazy world, read on to find out about some of the most useless (and hilarious) golf accessories that you can find.
Have you ever hit a hole in one? This sort of event is something that does not soon leave a golfer’s mind, and the Hole-N-One plaque is not going to speed it up. This plaque is sold online and in some golf stores, and comes with the plaque itself and the kit to quickly fasten a golf ball to it.
The goal is to proudly display the ball that you used to hit the hole in one for everyone to see. Instead of putting the ball to good use and playing more games of golf with it, you can immortalize it on your wall. Many would say that this is frivolous and unneeded, but if you feel as though you need to save the ball then at least you know there is an accessory out there for you.
One clever internet site offers something called the Tee-Card. It is a small product the size of a business card, and it pops out to form a golf tee that can be used as many times as you want. This is a golf accessory that could actually come in handy in the unlikely event that you lose your golf bag and have nothing but your wallet (which quite conveniently holds a Tee-Card). It is unclear whether this product works on grass or not, but it seems hard to imagine how a product like that could function in grass. It’s hard to imagine who this accessory could be intended for, but it sure seems like a novel idea.
Another interesting novelty accessory is the “WOW” putter, which is equipped with so many gadgets it would make James Bond jealous. Supposedly the gadgets are supposed to aid the golfer in making a better putt, but you may have trouble imagining how they could all come in handy.
The head of the putter includes a tape measure, a compass, a level, a rabbit foot, and a horn. Surprisingly, the putter is fairly usable despite all of the attachments. If you think that you could actually use a tape measure or a compass or a level during your putting, then this could be the perfect putter that has eluded you for so long.
For more extravagant and seemingly unnecessary golf accessories, you can buy all sorts of personalized golf clubs and accessories. One company offers a putter plated in 24k gold, personalized with whatever message the buyer chooses. This is a great way to show off to all of your golfing friends, and let them see what a nice putter you have.
Unfortunately, the price can run fairly high for the gold plated versions. If you really want your golf accessories to be plated in gold you will be paying a fair price for it. You will have to decide for yourself whether it is worth it or not.
As you can see, there are countless pointless accessories for the game of golf. You can show off all of your accomplishments in an extravagant way, or you can bring all sorts of gadgets with you onto the golf course. No matter what you do, you’re sure to get a few laughs with your golf accessories.

The Most Useful Golf Cart Accessory

A golf cart was initially designed in order to carry players around the course. Nowadays, carts are becoming a very popular transport. With the help of a golf cart accessory, it can turn it into a stylish and quite a comfortable vehicle. As well as golf courses, they are widely used in university campuses, neighborhoods and during different kinds of events. Installing such accessories as lift kits, alloy wheels or racing-style steering wheel can transform an ordinary golf cart into a very interesting and useful thing.
The Golf Cart Concept
Basically it’s a small vehicle with three or four wheels. The first ones were designed to hold two passengers, but modern models may contain up to 8 men. Usually it’s powered by electric engines. Alternatively it can have internal combustion motor.
The important thing about using them is legality. Without a set of additional golf cart accessory, they are not street-legal. In order to use one in the street, the owner has to outfit the vehicle with brake lights, seatbelts, windshield and so on. In this case, the golf cart will be allowed to use on the street with a speed limit of 25-35 mph (depends on the area).
They are also very economic. It’s about ten times cheaper to drive and maintain a golf cart than a car. It’s very important since the gas price has recently risen immensely.
Now you see the real benfit of owning one for yourself. How to make it even better? Lots of manufacturers produce lines of these type of accessories. Continue reading, and you will learn about the most popular and useful ones.
Golf Cart Accessory
Among others, the most popular accessory is a lift kit. Lift kits increase the cart clearance and therefore enhances its cross-country ability. However, lift kit installation may break original alignments of the headlights.
Another useful thing is a golf cart cover, which protects the vehicle in harsh weather conditions. As a rule, you should cover the golf cart in rainy and snowy weather.
Ramps and towing, designed for golf carts, will help you to puck up the vehicle into a truck. This may help to transfer a cart between courses.
Windshields protect driver and passengers from wind, rain and balls that may accidentally rush by. It is recommended to buy polycarbonate windshield, as it’s stronger than a standard acrylic one.
Many accessories are designed just to make a cart look more impressive. This may be a wheel covers, racing-style pedals and steering wheel or even a hi-end stereo system.
Manufacturers’ imagination is infinite and thus may help you to upgrade your cart.

Golf is a Healthy Activity for the Whole Family

Everyone knows that exercise is an important component of a plan for overall health. Usually, the more exercise you can fit into your day, the greater chance you will have to keep your weight at a healthy level and the more likely will you be to strengthen and train your heart and lungs to improve their function. Golf is a great sport that can be played over one’s entire lifespan, from child to adult, and it can be used, along with a proper diet and regular doctor visits, as a part of a healthy and active lifestyle.
As any athlete can tell you, if you go out and play a hard game of anything without proper training beforehand, you are much more likely to get hurt. Smart golfers often start training before their golf season begins. They use a series of golf conditioning exercises that focuses on strengthening the muscles used in the pursuit of playing golf: the center or core of the body, arms, shoulders and legs. They also perform exercises that are used to improve the player’s coordination, balance and flexibility, all of which are crucial components for any golf player’s game.
It is important to remember that for golf conditioning to be most useful, you should start the exercise routine a month or two before you plan to start your golf season. Many people find that they are stronger on one side of their body, and a bit weaker on the other. These imbalances can affect your game, but they also can be corrected with proper golf conditioning exercises. Stretches are also included to help improve your range of motion. Think about the contortions your body goes through when you reach all the way down to place a ball on a tee, or even more, when your perform a swing. A body that is not in good condition is more likely to sustain injury, which means that you will be on the sidelines resting rather than enjoying your sport, so a little pre-season conditioning is a great way to prevent that.
Golf can help improve your cardiovascular system if you walk between holes rather than take a golf cart. Even a fairly slow walk sustained for thirty minutes can burn approximately 130 calories, so even little bits of walking in between holes can really add up. Walking on a regular basis can help you lose a little weight or assist you in maintaining your current weight, it can strengthen your cardiovascular system when you walk at faster speeds, and walking can even help relieve the stresses that we carry with us throughout the day. What Can Be S.A.I.D. About The Golf Swing?

Probably the question that first comes to your mind when you
read this title is: what is S.A.I.D. and how does it help my
golf game? The reality is that S.A.I.D. is very connected to
your golf swing and is a very important principle if you want to
hit the ball farther and lower your scores.

Before introducing S.A.I.D. let us discuss improvement in the
game of golf. Improving your golf game requires developing
several disciplines. Generally speaking you must develop proper
swing mechanics, practice every aspect of the game (putting,
short game, chipping, pitching, short irons, long irons, fairway
woods, and driver), develop your course management skills, play
practice rounds, create understanding for the nuances of the
game, develop confidence, and finally develop your body.

Understand that the entire list of golf disciplines works as a
unit to improve your golf game. No one facet can be eliminated
from this list without having an effect on your overall
improvement. For example, if I were never to practice putting,
how well would I play? I may play great from tee to green, but
when it comes to putting, look for my scores to go through the
roof.

The last discipline mentioned was your body. Quite often this is
the forgotten aspect of improving your golf game, but it is
equally important. Let me ask you a question. What swings your
driver? Some answers may be your swing. In reality, your body
swings the club. Yes, your body swings the club, not the other
way around. Developing your body in relation to the swing allows
for a foundation to be created. This foundation is where you are
able to develop the proper mechanics of the swing.

If your body does not have the needed flexibility, balance,
coordination, or power to swing a club, how well are you going
to swing a driver? Not very well. If your body is weak and
inflexible developing an optimal swing will be next to
impossible.

The development of the body in relation to the swing is where
S.A.I.D. comes into play. S.A.I.D. refers to the principle of
“specific adaptation to imposed demands.” This principle states
that the body will adapt to the demands of the training stimulus
but will not adapt beyond the scope of that training stimulus
(NSCA Strength and Conditioning Journal, pg. 18, August, 2005).

Did I loose you in that last paragraph?

Let me explain. This principle pertains to developing the body’s
level of fitness in relation to any sport or activity. For
example, if I were to perform a bicep curl with a 25-pound
dumbbell 15 times the curl could be difficult in the beginning,
but over time it would get easier and eventually I could crank
out 15 repetitions with no problem. This is a result of my body
adapting (muscles getting stronger) to the resistance placed on
my body by the dumbbell.

Now here is the kicker, if I continued to only lift a 25-pound
dumbbell over the period of a year what do you think would
happen? I like to use the phrase “diminishing returns” to
explain this situation. Once the body adapts to a resistance,
the body plateaus and does not get stronger. At this point it
can even get weaker!

Now how does this pertain to golf? Think about it for a moment.
Greater distance off the tee is always a desire of every amateur
playing the sport. Amateurs go to great length to hit the ball
20, 10, or even 5 yards farther. They will buy new drivers, new
golf balls, new anything! Now if an amateur’s clubhead speed is
somewhere around 85 mph, how is that clubhead speed going to
improve with a new driver or new ball? The answer is it will not.

Hypothetically, let’s assume you have fairly efficient swing
mechanics. How are you going to increase your clubhead speed?
(Remember clubhead speed stays the same even if you buy a new
driver.) Someway or somehow you are going to have to generate
greater clubhead speed.

Increasing the efficiency with which you swing the club is one
way. But the efficiency with which you swing a club has an end
point, and once that end point is reached it won’t go any
farther. What is the other way by which you can increase your
clubhead speed? Implementing a golf fitness program into your
routine can help.

A golf fitness program will develop the “foundation” to improve
your swing mechanics. This type of program will develop your
flexibility, balance, coordination, strength, and endurance
capacities to improve your swing.

Additionally, it can develop greater clubhead speed. Clubhead
speed is a result of power development. Power development is
contingent upon your swing mechanics and body. Improving the
power outputs of your body will enhance your clubhead speed. And
greater clubhead speed equates to greater distance on your
drives.

If you have never developed a level of golf fitness, your body
is set at a certain level of power-generating capabilities.
Until you force the body to increase its power-generating
capabilities through the S.A.I.D. principle, your club head
speed will stay the same. A golf fitness program will place
resistance on your body forcing it to adapt and improve its
power capabilities. The end result will be greater clubhead
speed, and that can equate to longer drives.

Looking for a golf-specific fitness program to improve your
clubhead speed? Look no further than my manual Your Body & Your
Swing. This program is filled with golf-specific flexibility,
balance, strength, endurance, and power exercises to enhance
your golf swing. My program implements the S.A.I.D. principle
with the goal of improving your scores and your driving
distances

Dave Pelz and Phil Mickelson discuss the golf-putting training aid, The Putting Tutor

Used and endorsed by three-time major winner Phil Mickelson,
The PELZ Putting Tutor® will help you:
1.Improve Green Reading
2.Square your Putter Face
3.Verify Eye Position
4.Putt Like The Pros
SET-UP FEATURES
Designed to identify the putts you strike squarely and start rolling on-line, the Putting Tutor® features a guide line to help aim your putt on the exact chosen line for your putt.
The Tutor’s eye position stripes allow you to verify consistent eye position at address. Consistent eye position is necessary for great putting fundamentals. The Tutor’s flat back edge helps you square your putter face at address.
FEEDBACK FEATURES
The Putting Tutor also has two marbles at its front edge, which tell you whether or not you’ve just made a “pure strike” and started a putt on line. If your putt dislodges a marble, it means your ball started off-line. This is good feedback because:
1.You cannot learn how much a putt breaks if you hit it poorly
2.You need to know which of your strokes start putts on line vs. off line
3.You’ll learn to consistently groove a reliable “pure-stroke” putting stroke.
GREEN-READING HELP
Once you’ve begun making pure strokes, you can focus on watching the roll of your putts. If your stroke was good (no marbles were dislodged) and your speed was good, but you still miss the putt, you know you must have read the break wrong. You learn how much putts break simply by adjusting the aim of the Putting Tutor higher or lower, until well struck putts go in.
Practicing with the Pelz Putting Tutor will help you improve your green-reading skills as you simultaneously learn to make consistently better putting strokes. The feedback the Putting Tutor provides takes the mystery out of missing putts and will help you become a better putter!

Do you Have Good Golf Etiquette?

Few other sports depend so greatly on the integrity and good temperament of the players than golf. Unlike other sports, golf does not depend on the supervision of referees or umpires. Players are expected to both understand the rules and etiquette of the game. Golf is a game that relies not only on skill and talent, but also on proper conduct and sportsmanship. Good etiquette on the green will ensure maximum enjoyment of the game for all players.
Golf is gentleman’s and gentlewoman’s sport. Players should take the time to study the rules of the game. The rules serve to improve the game by sustaining the pace of play, maintaining the quality of the golf course, and ensuring the safety of the players. The spirit of the game depends on players demonstrating discipline and sportsmanship at all times regardless of how competitive they are. If you are new to the game, or just need to refresh your golf etiquette, here are some basic considerations that will help keep the game enjoyable for you and those around you.
Golfers must always play without delay, in order to maintain the pace of the game. The pace of the game requires players to ready to hit the ball when their turn arrives. The order of play is always the farthest from the whole first. Players should carry two uniquely marked balls. In order to reduce the time for taking a shot, players should study the shot while the other players are preparing to hit. A player should always hit the shot within 45 seconds of the previous player’s stroke. Golfers should never crowd the previous group or lag behind.
On the green, golfers must fix their ball marks with care. They should not leave bare ground or smooth surface where the ball mark was. Golfers should never dig under a ball mark or leverage the soil upward. Players should always remove the peg from the tee after hitting. It is a breach of etiquette to leave a tee or push the tee into the ground. On the bunkers, players should leave the bunker as they found it. A few strokes of the rake will smooth the sand and remove any trace of footprints. The golden rule is to leave the golf course as the player found it and avoid excessive damage.
Although golf is not a contact sport, players must avoid injuring themselves or fellow golfers. One player is permitted on the tee at a time. Players should never stand behind a golfer on the tee or anywhere on the course. Players should always be mindful of the group in front of them. If a golfer is hitting is the direction of other players, the golfer should shout the traditional warning of “fore”.
Golf etiquette is an essential part of the game. Consideration of other golfers is absolutely required. Players must be still and silent while other players are hitting. Disturbing or distracting another player is simply unacceptable and contradictory to the spirit of the game. Everyone wants to score and play well on the golf course, but good golf also depends on having a good attitude and being extremely considerate.

How To Pursue A Professional Golf Career

Golf is becoming increasingly popular. Long seen as a sport for the business class, golf is often used as a pastime for everyone from co-workers to the CEOs. However, recent years have also seen golf increase in popularity as a career choice, as nationally renowned golf schools make it easier to enter the field. Below are some tips for pursuing a professional golf career.
Have some prior knowledge of the game. Being familiar with golf is important when you are making a decision about your future. Pursuing a professional golf career entails making a commitment to the sport, and before you do that you should be sure that you like golfing enough to do it for a living. If you love golf so much that you feel you can never spend enough time at the driving range or on the course, then a golf career may be an excellent way for you to mix work with pleasure. However, if some of your worst moments have occurred on a golf course, or if you think you might like a career in golf but you aren’t entirely certain, you will probably want to take some time to reassess your feelings about the sport before making a decision.
Have a backup plan. Although it’s not impossible, succeeding as a pro golfer can be difficult. This doesn’t mean you can’t pursue a career in golf, however. There are many professional golf careers that don’t require fame and stardom. Just be sure that your golf education and experience will leave other options available to you: for example, golf instruction, golf facility management, and golf equipment sales are all jobs that will benefit from your education and experience, and hopefully will interest you almost as much as playing the sport itself.
Get an education from a good school. Just as it is in almost any other professional career, a good education is important in the golf industry. Golf schooling opens doors that might otherwise be shut to those seeking professional golf careers. A golf degree on your resume indicates to prospective employers that you know the sport and the business, making you a more attractive choice over an applicant who would require more training. Also, the fact that you pursued an education in the industry means that you have already demonstrated lasting interest in the sport, whereas an employee without a similar background could decide in a month that golf is not for him. Therefore, getting a golf education is one of the best ways to prove to employers that you can and want to the job.
Gain as much practical experience as possible. Although a degree says a lot about you to a prospective employer, so does your work history. The more you work in the industry before graduation, the greater your chances of finding a good job right out of school. Many different options are available to those pursuing professional golf careers: most golf schools have thriving internship programs, allowing students to gain valuable work experience and an education at the same time. Your school may also be able to assist you in finding long-term part time or full time employment while you are a student.
Have fun! Remember, the entire point of pursuing a professional golf career is to earn your living doing something that you enjoy. If your stress levels or a sense of urgency make your education and career into more of a job than you once felt it was, you could permanently destroy any enjoyment the sport once had for you. Try to remain optimistic, and make efforts to keep school and work fun, regardless of what trials you may face. And whatever happens, don’t forget that you are here because you wanted to be.

Perfect Golf Swing Made Easy

If you’re like most golfers, you want to improve, not just hack around the golf course. Golf is a difficult game to master and most golfers don’t have the time it takes to practice, practice, and practice to significantly improve. You may receive all the greatest golf tips in the world, take countless lessons and get superior instruction and still may not be able to gain consistency.
If you’ve hit with your golf driver perfectly once, you can do it every time; the subconscious mind knows the correct number and sequence of muscle contractions and nerve impulses needed, called muscle memory. Approach the game with a positive attitude and repeat affirmations if you can, such as “I play great golf all the time.” Concentrate totally on your game and you’ll get the best score.
When you swing if you have problems with your left knee buckling, imagine you’re holding a soccer ball between your knees. At the end of a backswing the hands are above the right shoulder, with the golf club pointing more or less in the intended direction of ball flight. Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you’re going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball.
Before you swing, make sure you’re relaxed; contract all your muscles tightly for a moment and then relax them. Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing. Accomplished golfers purposely use sidespin to steer their ball around obstacles or towards the safe side of fairways and greens.
The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists. Sidespin occurs when the clubface is not aligned perpendicularly to the plane of swing. Many golfers who are strongly left-handed in their daily life prefer the right-handed golf swing.
One of the problems that most inexperienced golfers share is they think too much about their swing. The most important thing about the golf swing is the angle and not the strength that’s applied to it.
Hold a medicine ball and turn back and forth; it must be rotational to improve your driving distance. Once you understand that you can change your swing by using a simple technique, you’ll never underestimate golf fitness again. You can get rid of shoulder problems with some simple techniques.
Most of all don’t waste your money on a golf swing aid you don’t need or will never use. Before buying any golf swing aid, check with an expert to get an idea of what problem you need to work on first; backlift of golf swing, momentum of downward thrust or stance for example. Golf swing aids can be found online and are often cheaper.
If you’re looking for an aid to improve your stance they’re not hard to find. There are golf swing aids that will help you with swing alignment. Ask an expert, who is not associated with the shop you would buy your golf swing aid from, for advice on the right aid for you.
Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one golf swing aid and go to work on your swing. Be careful about the claims on TV commercials and magazine ads; seek expert advice before you buy because they may not live up to their claims. You can find golf swing aids that will help you with your wrist and arm position.
Overall, investing in golf swing aids will greatly improve your golf swing and your golf game. Sporting goods stores have golf aids to improve your game.
If you can, sit in on a friend’s golf lesson to see if you connect with the pro. Invest in a few of the newest golf books and golf ebooks; older golf books may be outdated. Try to concentrate on one golf swing weakness at a time.

Personal Golf Rules For Better Success

Several people who are interested in golfing may be interested in the several golf academies that exist. Keep in mind that if you do decide to join a golf academy, there are many things to keep in mind before you go. Of course, practice makes perfect. Also, there are several different things to keep in mind when it comes to your body.
One of the things to know before looking at golf academies includes that people need to learn to stretch before they actually go to the academy. Keep in mind that the muscles used in golf swing techniques can really give us a workout. When we go to use the muscles used in golf swing techniques we can expect to use many different muscles in our body.
Additionally, it is good to remember that the muscles in the body that are used when we play golf adapt to the movements of the body. If the muscles in the body are trained to work with the movement of your body then your golf results could be very good. When the pros practice putting, they concentrate on speed, not break. Successful initial learning should increase the likelihood of long term success.
Golf instruction is essentially the same; skill based learning broken down into various strands of knowledge. Obtain the skills and master the game. This sounds practical and again the results are very much the same. You can also try to ensure that you always warm up first to get blood circulating throughout the body and into the muscles. Also, a warm up should be a slow, rhythmic exercise of larger muscle groups done before an activity. Riding a bicycle or walking works well. This provides the body with a period of adjustment between rest and the activity.
The warm up should last about fifteen minutes and should be similar to the activity that you are about to do, but at a much lower intensity. Once you have warmed up at a low intensity for about fifteen minutes and have gotten your muscles warm, you can now stretch. This is just one way to go about stretching and preparing for the golf academies.
Moreover, they rarely practice anything other than straight putts. In fact, many do not even putt at the cup. They putt to and from imaginary lines, trying to control their distance. The shoulder joint is the most active joint in the golf swing. Movements such as arms circles and crosses are needed to prepare for an aggressive golf swing on the first tee.
The hamstrings and low back are also critical areas to warm up before swinging a club. To improve functional flexibility, you should the muscle being worked in between strength training sets. The benefit includes maintaining and improving full range of motion while muscles are recovering. These are important to take home or do to prepare before you join golf academies.

5 Golf Swing Fallacies To Avoid

Golf is definitely a sport with a difference. The similarity between golf and other sports, such as track and field, ends at the need for a proper technique. Though professional golf may require some basic minimal physical training, the weekend golfer can achieve high degrees of success in the game without following a fitness regime at all. Concentration on a suitable technique, diligent application, avoiding common mistakes and having a positive attitude can produce excellent results in the golf swing and overall game.
When looking for golf instruction, even though someone may want to observe and imitate professionals, the fact is that though spectacular movements can be noticed, the subtle ones mostly skip even the careful observer unless you know what you are specifically looking for. The irony is that it is these subtle movements that are critical in dictating a style and perfecting the art of a swing.
This peculiar aspect of golfing has given rise to many fallacies or myths about the mechanical principles that are used in golf. It is thus imperative to know which ones to avoid. Here we will address a few of the most commonly heard today.
1. “Relax” and “Use a Light Grip”
A very natural combination of a ‘relax’ and ‘light grip’ is often used by instructors teaching the golf swing today. Even though ‘light grip’ relates naturally with ‘relax’, the admonition to ‘relax’ actually became standard with golf instructors in order to loosen up their students who were self conscious and frightened to the point of rigidity. Over time these instructions seem to be issued to anyone who starts a training session. However, inability to use these techniques in the correct perspective can do more harm than good.
2. “Be Loose”
Another common instruction, ‘be loose’, may sound the same as “relax” yet is very different. The swing can be loose even if you are not totally relaxed. A loose swing is the outcome of a big hip turn on the backswing or a sway, bad wrist and foot movement and a certain type of grip.
3. “Stop at the Top of the Swing”
Another fallacious instruction given is with regard to stopping at the top of the swing. It is an established mechanical principle that any object moving in one direction must come to a complete stop before moving in the opposite direction. Consciously stopping at the ‘top of the swing’ results in freezing of the body movement thus disrupting the rhythm that it significantly contributes to the swing.
4. “Turn Your Hips To The Left”
Don’t try and ‘turn your hips to the left’ on purpose. Hip turning does take place during a swing but more often than not, it is a natural turn after the golfer has moved laterally to the left. When golfers make an actual effort to do nothing more than turn their hips, it results in a ruined swing and poor shot.
5. “Keep Your Head Down”
This is a commonly quoted directive given by most weekend golfers. However, the head needs to instead be kept back through the golf swing and the subtle movements that occur will do so naturally. It is actually completely unnatural to try to fix your head in a locked position throughout the golf swing. By concentrating on this one point too much, you lose focus from the rest of the golf swing that actually helps to generate the power needed to drive the ball forward.
You need not be a professional golfer to improve your golf swing and scores quicly. Better and more consistent golf can be played by the weekend golfer by simply heeding some good advice and practicing sound discipline. The important thing to note is to follow the modern techniques that have evolved over the years, avoid fallacious outdated instructions and learn to manage the game properly.

How to Develop More Power in your Golf Swing

How can you develop more power in your golf swing? This is probably a question that all of us want an answer to. Most of us go to great lengths to do whatever it takes to get that “power” into our drives off the tee. I think we probably all have some ideas of where 300-yard drives come from, but I want to give you the answers without any “fluff.”Golf swing power is the result of three specific factors. Two out of the three are much more important, but the third does have a bearing on the outcome of how far you hit that ball. The first and probably most evident of the three is your swing mechanics. I bet you are not surprised by this one.The second one is probably the least recognized of the three, but for many is the “key” to longer drives and the category that is given the least amount of attention. Number two is what we term golf strength. This is defined as how well your body is conditioned (i.e. fitness) to swing a golf club with maximum power. Probably the least understood of the three, and maybe the most needed by golfers in general. We will talk more about this later. Let us move on to number three in regards to power for your drives.Number three is your equipment. Yes, equipment does make a difference in how far you drive the ball. The equipment manufacturers have let this fact be known, and I bet we all have gone to the pro shop probably more than twice to pick up a new driver that claims to give us another 20 yards on every drive. That extra 20 yards might not be down the middle of the fairway, but it will give you an extra 20 yards… could be left, could be right, or could be in the center of the fairway. That all depends on points one and two of this article. Equipment and technological advances have definitely lengthened the distance of our drives. But without better swing mechanics and your body in better golf shape, new technology will not help your game. A bad swing will produce a bad result, regardless of what type of “new” driver you may have just purchased.Swing MechanicsI think all of us are aware of how important the mechanics of a swing are when it comes to driving the ball down the fairway. It is essential, if you are over the top with your swing or come inside too much, you’ll see that dreaded slice or snap hook. The drives will be short, too low, too high, left, right, or a combination of these if you are putting bad swings on the ball.It is essential for a golfer to work on the mechanics of their swing, week in and week out, to improve their game. If it weren’t important why would all these tour players have swing coaches that work with them on a consistent basis? The golf swing is such a finite, mechanically complex movement, that requires constant work to keep it highly efficient and in check. One of the most common mistakes I see amateurs make is probably a lack of instruction. I see amateurs over and over at the driving ranges, week in and week out, pounding balls without any improvement. This, I feel, is a result of one of two things: 1) a lack of instruction or 2) low levels of golf strength. A lack of instruction leads to the development and ingraining of improper swing mechanics. This only results in slices, hooks, topping the ball, and hitting it fat on the course. And we all know that those types of swings lead to frustration and bad rounds of golf. I would suggest to most anyone to find a good instructor and take lessons on a consistent basis. This can only help your game in the long run. Now moving on the second point of how to achieve powerful drives and that is golf strength.Golf Strength (Golf Fitness)Golf strength is a term we use to describe the golf fitness level of an individual pertaining to swinging a club. This is much different than how much you can bench press or squat, which I like to refer to as “weight room strength.” Understand that these two terms, golf strength and weight room strength, are very different. If you do not quite understand the difference, ask yourself one question: How many bodybuilders do you see teeing it up on Tour? The answer to that question is quite obvious, none!It comes down to this idea: the mechanics of a golf swing require specific levels of flexibility, balance, stability, strength, endurance, and power to perform it efficiently. If your body does not have the required capacities of the aforementioned list, then the result will be? Anyone want to guess? Well, let me give you the answer: a less than optimal and less efficient swing than possible. Essentially, your body supports your swing much like a foundation supports the house you build upon it. I am sure that all of you would choose to build a house on a stone foundation rather than a sand foundation, wouldn’t you? I will say that many of you make a different choice when it comes to your golf swing. I quite often see amateurs developing their swing on a “foundation of sand,” not a good thing to do in my book.Regardless of how much time you work on your swing mechanics, if your body does not have the “golf strength” to support your swing, you are limiting your potential. I have seen it numerous times, people practicing at the range who struggle, not because of trying to get better, but because their bodies are limiting what they can do with their swing. Quite often I see people with limited flexibility, poor balance capabilities, and low levels of strength and power. The bottom line is that your mechanics will not get better until you fix the body that swings the club!Up to this point we have discussed the two most important ideas when it comes to power on the golf course. A review of the topics tells us that they are optimal swing mechanics and the proper levels of “golf strength” in the body. One without the other is going to leave you short when it comes to your potential in the game.Again, I probably see point number two, golf strength, being addressed less often than swing mechanics when you get right down to it. The pros are all aware of the importance of golf strength, why not you?EquipmentWe have come to the final point, and that is equipment. I think the majority of golfers are aware of the technological advances that have occurred in golf equipment over the last 20 years. I mean, think about the ’80′s when we were still playing with woods that actually had wood club heads! Imagine that for a moment, and now we are using drivers with space age faces that shoot the ball off of them at warp speed. In addition, we have to mention the advances in terms of golf balls. How manufacturers design golf balls today makes a difference in how far they travel. What a lot of people do not realize is that the USGA has set standards on how “hot” driver faces can be and how “fast” balls can come off the face of drivers. Most clubs are reaching this limit, and anything past these USGA rules becomes illegal to play. So what does that tell us? 1) Club manufacturers have done a great, and I mean great, job in the advancement of technology, and 2) to increase the distance on your drives you are now going to have to turn to points one and two of this article. So what does improving your power really come down to?It comes down to three simple ideas. Number one is improving your golf swing mechanics. Improved mechanics will improve your driving distance. Number two is improving your golf strength. By improving your body as it pertains to the golf swing you will improve your distance off the tee. Finally, equipment does make a difference, if you hit the ball correctly.
